Turf Pros Volunteering for ‘Field Day’ at Foothill

The Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America is sending volunteers from all over Northern California and Nevada to Foothill for a “field day” this Monday, Oct. 24.

The Sierra Nevada Chapter and its members are donating equipment, labor, and products to help improve the turf surfaces at Foothill through the aerification of greens, tees, and fairways, as well as overseeding teeing surfaces and applying nutrients to the entire course.

The Sierra Nevada Chapter of the GCSA is made up of golf course superintendents, assistant golf course superintendents, equipment managers, greenkeepers, and affiliates of the golf industry who are dedicated to advancing the golf profession, promoting the growth of the game through inclusion and diversity, and thereby improving communities through the vitality of the game of golf.

The field day will be an annual event, which over time will help promote sustainability and environmentalism at Foothill, which serves as home base for the Cameron Champ Foundation.

We owe a huge thanks to the local golf courses, private clubs and vendors who have shown their support for Foothill Golf Course and the Cameron Champ Foundation!
